About Me

Alice Carfrae: For the last three years I have been a student studying Documentary photography at university of Wales Newport. I have had great success on the course and really enjoyed the challenges that it presents both academically and personally. As well as studying photography I have taken an active role in building a commercial portfolio, and taking the first steps to establish myself as a professional photographer. In August 2008 I won the Dartington Hall Trust and Western Morning News ‘Young photographer of the year’ competition and spent the following year documenting activities around the estate to add to the Dartington archives. I have been asked to continue this work documenting the Dartington International summer school of Music. Last year I was commissioned by the Welsh Rugby Union to document Grassroots rugby in rural Wales. This cumulated into an exhibition in the Millennium stadium in Cardiff. I also work with a number of charities including Research In Practice and the Youth Justice Board.
